Textual Prowess

Gimp Icon

I really WANT to like the logo for The Gimp but it looks so amateurish (on purpose I guess).  It just reminds me how cack-handed I am. I’d rather fake some confidence by having an Adobe-like icon on my desktop like this one by coreper on deviantart. Richard Querin’s screencast on some basic text treatments and a font called Doris can help me out. Add some path differences, a few gradients and we’re in business.
