I do feel like a bit of an axe murderer doing this. Today’s post is about getting closer to a composition though, not decomposition. After tracing the body parts with the Bezier tool you can reposition them and reuse them forever! When you do this remember to stop at the joints. Don’t draw or trace a whole arm. Draw the upper arm and the forearm separately. Now you have an elbow you can rotate like those wooden artist’s mannequins. Clicking once then once again (not double click) brings up the cross hairs. Drag it to the joint (e.g. the elbow) and it will rotate around that point instead of the centre.
The shadows on the arm, under the leg and on the back of the knee were done by duplicating them twice, repositioning them a little offset then doing a Path > Difference.
