This another illustration of an appliance at the science museum, an old radio. I used more techniques than I did in the last post. Most notably, the pattern fill for the cloth. As a more complex illustration it was necessary to use a few more layers. Layers make it easy to select and edit various objects and paths without accidentally selecting others. You can select things even if they are below another object and make whole layers temporarily invisible while you work.
As a beginner it’s hard to see what layers are for but after a while it’s difficult to see how you can work without them.
